The house is a warm marriage of Victorian red-brick front and 17th Century Coach House rear, just a stones throw from the renowned gardens at Great Dixter created by the late Christopher Lloyd. Inside the friendly Brogdens have worked an informal magic and comfort rules – from the cosy Guest Sitting room to the big peaceful bedrooms above.

As mentioned, Great Dixter is just a short distance away and keen gardeners can also visit Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor and Scotney Castle. The famous, quaint fishing town of Rye is just 7 miles away and offers visitors a step back in time with its cobbled streets, hidden local pubs and an array of some of the best fish restaurants. There is also the opportunity to hire a boat at nearby Newenden and row along the river to historic Bodiam castle. Camber Sands with its vast expanse of sandy beach and dunes is just outside Rye. For railway enthusiasts and children the local Tenterden steam railway and Dymchurch miniature railway.
